He is the head of the Mercantile Law department at MA Abogados in Madrid. Full Professor in Mercantile Law at the Complutense University of Madrid.
Dedicated to Mercantile Law, both in the academic field and in the professional exercise of advocacy, his areas of specialisation are Company Law, mercantile contracting and Insolvency Law.
In the area of Company Law he has advised numerous companies, both Spanish and overseas, performing the duties of Secretary of several Boards of Directors and advising in all kinds of corporate transactions (capital increase and reduction, division, asset exchange, constitution of joint ventures, exclusion of partners, global transfer of assets and liabilities, dissolution and liquidation, etc.), as well as in important aspects relating to Corporate Governance of some of the principal companies belonging to the IBEX-35.
He has likewise participated in negotiating and drafting all kinds of civil and mercantile contracts, some of them of great complexity, in the financial and property fields, undertaking legal direction in litigation related to the same (swaps, interest rate collars, property sale and leasing, etc.).
Finally, he has advised companies and financial entities on insolvency matters. In addition, since January 2009, he has been a registered insolvency practitioner and has held this post in about twenty insolvency proceedings, both abbreviated and ordinary, some of them of special transcendence.
He is also an arbitrator before various arbitration tribunals, having participated in numerous arbitration procedures, both representing a party, and as sole arbitrator, or member of a panel.
EducationDegree in Law summa cum laude from the University of Granada.
He received a doctorate from the University of Bologna, being awarded the Domenico Belvederi” prize for the best doctoral thesis.

He has likewise taught, and still teaches, on several master’s and postgraduate courses, and has given an endless list of seminars and conferences, both in Spain and abroad (Harvard Law School, National University of Tucumán, University of La Plata, etc.), on the subjects mentioned.
